Plan: 1st Shoot

Model: My mum (Jayne)

For this look I chose to use my own mum as my model as I wanted to keep all three of my shoots as diverse as possible! Originally I planned on using my lovely Granny as my model, but after calling her and asking if she would mind being my fab model, it turned out she couldn't make it. MUM TO THE RESCUE of course I can always rely on her!
I wanted to ensure I was completely prepared and had practised on her face before going through with the final shoot, so I've come home for the weekend!

Face Chart:

  •  For this face chart I was inspired by the film Cabaret with their dramatic eye make-up, and also I used inspiration from Anita Berber's red lip and bronzed eyes.
  • To start off I applied foundation and then contoured the face quite dramatically to make the make-up look ready for a cabaret show.
  • I shaded the eyes with red, orange, bronze and brown to create this autumn colour and put black in the crease of the eye.
  • To add a bit of excitement to the look I also added an electric teal liquid eyeliner half way along the bottom lashes. I chose this colour to complement my mums eyes as they are a lovely shade of turquoise.
  • I have added some individual lashes on the end of the top lash lines to make the eyes even more dramatic!
  • I have kept the lips pretty simple with a rusty colour with a bronzed glow over the top to make the lips look fuller.
  • The eye brows have brown eye shadow brushed through them to create a natural shape.

I love this look that I've created and am excited to do it again in my final shoot!

Hair:

For the hair I have chosen to use a black wig like the one in the image on the left. Luckily I already had this wig from a Halloween fancy dress a couple of years back which saved me some pennies! This hair style was a popular cut in Berlin 1920's-30's when the women began to experiment with their sexuality. This was known as the Flapper style. The notorious flapper girl is known by all and the short sleek hair, above the knee straight shift dress and the boyish figure will never fail to be remembered.
