Plan: 2nd Look

Model: Bianca

I have used Bianca as  model for a shoot before and so I chose to use her again for this shoot as I think she will fit the role perfectly. For this design I want to re-create a Cabaret dancer and so I had to ensure that my model was going to be confident enough in front of the camera in order to create some of the poses and shapes that I want her to create with her body.

Face chart:

For this face chart I wanted to keep the make-up bright and eye catching. I have chosen to look at Cabaret dancers and re-create my own response in my final look. I have created a Silver Smokey eye with a bright popping red glossy lip inspired by the make-up in Christina Aguilera's music video for her song 'lady Marmalade'.

I chose Bianca to model for this look as I new that she would be perfect. She is really confident in front of the camera and so photogenic which makes it much easier and a bonus for me!

Bianca is half cast meaning she has a tight curly afro. I am going to practise playing and simply styling her hair before I try to sleek it down and finger wave it as this may be quite hard for me to create meaning I may need to improvise slightly.

Hair:

The hair style that I have chosen to create for this look is a sleek finger wave from the root to the end. But because my chosen model has a tight curled afro, I found that after practising this hair style on my model I am going to have to re-think my idea. I am now instead going to sleek the hair down into a side parting tied at the back so that the headdress can fit snug on top.

When I think of Cabaret headdress's and hair styles I automatically think of large feathers and tight black bobs. I originally planned on using feathers in my models hair for this shoot but whilst researching I found that the gay cabaret used to wear beaded headdresses like in the image on the right. Unbelievably I was lucky enough to find one in good old Beatnik my favourite shop in Southampton! It's a Vintage/fancy dress shop which allows you to buy or hire items.
