playing with contrasts of colours

I decided to find some inspiration from other artists that have become famous for their amazing work. Playing with contrasts of colour is something that I really enjoy. I love to find and create new ways of turning an image into a brand new image. One way that I tend to use quite a lot is changing the contrast, brightness and saturation settings of the chosen image. One artist that almost does this but in a much more technical approach is Andy Warhol.

Over the last few years of studying art based subjects I have found a love for Andy Warhol known best for his amazing Pop Art.
He uses the similar technique of changing the contrasts of the colours to their opposites to re-creating the image.

This piece of his work on the right is a Pop Art piece of Marilyn Monroe. I absolutely love the colours he has used on each of the squares and I find it a really intense interesting piece.

His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture and advertisement that flourished by the 1960s

 OWN INTERPRETATION

Taking inspiration from the amazing Warhol, I have used a photo editing programme to change the colours and contrasts of the image. I really love the way they all turned out, looks pretty awesome right?
To create this look I used my Supra colour palette and my MAC lip mixes. As I was looking into pop art I decided to make the colours stand out bold next and on top of each other and outlined the outside with the black supra colour to give it strong definition.
