Rick Owens Spring 2014 Women's wear Paris
The avant-garde designer and King of the gothic look Rick Owen decided to exchange the typical waif-like models which usually rule the runway and instead opted for a different cast crowd of plus-size steppers. After marching out in draped nun-like garments and sporting mean menacing looks on their faces, the crew of women steppers broke out into a performance that wowed their audience as they rounded it off by creating themselves into a human centipede chain. It may have been Bethann Hardison's call for diversity on the runway that inspired his provocative show, but either way Owens' performance- driven presentation was talk of the town.
