Blured Lines Music Video

During todays seminar the song 'Blurred Lines' buy Robin Thicke and Pharell was brought up a lot causing some strong opinions from the few feminists of the class! The music video was directed by Diane Martel, and was released on March 20th 2013.

I think that the fact this video shows explicit parts of the three models; Emily Ratajkowski, Jessi M'Bengue, and Elle Evans being topless, even if they were happy to do this, was unreasonable and wasn't needed. The video had taken references from Manet's Dejeuner sur l'herbe 1862 painting from the naked woman that sits next to the two 'Gentlemen' in their suits. I say Gentlemen, this is what we're portrayed to believe that women should be seen as, something to just sit with to be looked at. These men are not Gentlemen, and Robin Thicke and Pharell in my eyes are the same as these two men in the painting.
